Andy Poyiadgi

Andy Poyiadgi makes films by day and comics by night. He likes the solitary nature of one and the collaborative needs of the other.

He started out creating award-winning promos for the BBC, and since then has directed commercials and content for Heinz, Vodafone, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan, The Guardian, Xbox, American Express and many more, including a D&AD nominated trailer for The Sopranos.

His short film Schizofredric screened internationally, winning awards at the Garden State Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Seattle Sci-Fi Film Festival and Sci-Fi London Film Festival.

Andy’s first comic Teapot Therapy was shortlisted for the Observer Graphic Short Story Prize and was exhibited at the Mall Galleries and Foyles bookstore in London. He has contributed to various anthologies and produced a strip for Shots magazine, taking an irreverent look at the world of advertising and film.

His debut book, Lost Property, was published by Nobrow. It was nominated for Best Comic at the British Comic Awards and was voted Best One-Shot at the Broken Frontier Awards.

Above all else, he likes a good brew.
