Bio
Born and raised in the happy California sunshine, Rylee’s been directing and editing films since she was 10 years old. When she’s not making award-winning short films, she’s hanging out with Baby (a four-year-old doodle).
Rylee is a Forbes 30 Under 30, Telly award-winning, comedy director and writer. She’s directed commercials and branded content for some of the world’s largest brands, including Kellogg's, Disney, Facebook, State Farm, Dr Pepper, Amazon, ESPN, Zillow, and Google. She’s worked with numerous high-profile talent and comedians including Seth McFarland, Ben Schwartz, Tom Felton, Nicholas Braun, Brittany Snow, Alfonso Ribeiro, James Marsden, Sky Katz, Sherry Cola, Zuri Adele, Jay Williams, Doris Burke and Iliza Shlesinger.
In January 2022, Rylee wrote and directed Boomerang, a comedy short film starring SAG award winner and Emmy nominee Marin Hinkle (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). It won “BEST FILM” at JUST FOR LAUGHS and “BEST DIRECTOR” at Women’s Comedy Festival Chicago. It’s currently having a successful festival run at Palm Springs, Brooklyn, Dances With Films and Hollyshorts, with more on the horizon.
She went to NYU Tisch and studied improv, character, and sketch at The Groundlings. Storytelling is in her DNA, she's the granddaughter of Hollywood actor, Buddy Ebsen and comedian/advertising creative director, Stan Freberg. Her favourite comedies are What About Bob, Raising Arizona, and So I Married an Axe Murderer.
