Bio
Peter Franklyn Banks makes films full of heart: sharply observed, beautifully composed, with a photographer’s eye and a knowing wink. Characters you love. Jokes that do not announce themselves. Performance that cuts deep. He is well known for placing superstars in meticulously crafted worlds and getting them to behave like actual human beings.
Pete’s filmmaking career started at ground level. He made perhaps millions of cups of tea for possibly the entire British film industry before going on to assist some of the finest directors the UK has ever produced.
That apprenticeship left him with a lasting respect for proper filmmaking: the care, collaboration and graft it takes to carry an idea from the page to the final frame. He brings relentless energy and conviction to every stage, along with a genuine love for the people, the process and the craft.
He has directed and photographed campaigns for global brands including Budweiser, Mastercard, ASICS, Oakley Meta, EA Sports, Ffern, Adidas, Spotify, Guinness, Monster Energy and HexClad, and worked with an unreasonable number of pro footballers, including seven campaigns with Lionel Messi.
Dr. Dre, Ed Sheeran, Prince William, Gordon Ramsay and Brian Cox have also ended up in front of his camera and only one of these told him to "Fuck Off”.
His films have travelled far, broken viewing records and collected recognition at Cannes Lions, One Show, British Arrows, Clios, Kinsale and beyond.
